Puliyogare Gojju is our slow-cooked tamarind spice paste — tamarind, coriander, red chilli, fenugreek, mustard, cumin, pepper, sesame, lentils, groundnuts, dry coconut, curry leaves, turmeric and jaggery, simmered down the way Karnataka kitchens have made it for generations. This is the base of a proper puliyogare, not a shortcut.
How to use it
Give it a proper tadka — heat oil, splutter mustard seeds, fry peanuts, curry leaves and dried red chillies, then stir in the gojju before mixing through warm rice. That one step is what makes it taste homemade.
Why it’s different
Small-batch, no preservatives, cooked down slow the traditional way. One jar makes 6–8 servings.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container.
